Euphonium

Jeuph is my student model euphonium, a Jupiter JEP-1000. He's a bit worn and I bought him on a whim used from a Book-Off Super Bazaar in Hiroshima. When I say that I bought him, I mean my lovely girlfriend used her foreigner status to buy him tax free for 185.400円. That seems like a good price, but Jeuph is a bit sticky needing a lot of valve oil to keep running. Also, the mouthpiece receiver is a small shank which makes finding mouthpieces for him difficult. So he's using a Yamaha 46C2 mouthpiece which is normally meant for trombones!

This is my Yamaha YEP-842S, which I actually bought brand new! Regal Jeuph is the first instrument that I have ever bought new, but I did get an excellent deal on him. 三木楽器(Miki Gakki) was having their 200 year anniversary and had 20% off certain instruments that had been around for a while. The YEP-842S was discontinued at the beginning of 2025 and replaced with the YEP-843S in March. The timing was perfect and with the price at 836,000円, I went for it.

Sally

Tenor Trombone

Sally is pretty new to my horn family, a Yamaha Xeno YSL-882U, but as far as I call she's an auntie with a serial number that most likely dates her to first year of production, 1995. I'm not too sure though since production information isn't public. She sure is fun to toot though! I thought that Jeuph and Sally would get to share mouthpieces, but I learned after getting her that Sally has a large receiver so she gets to share with Regal Jeuph instead. I picked her up for 169,800円 which is an excellent price for her age and caliber, but she does have some spider webbing in the lacquer around the bell.

This is where the picture of my tuba would be IF I HAD ONE. >:O I have four years of experience playing the tuba from my school years, but they are so expensive to purchase. I'm saving up and eventually I'll have one of my own.
